The Gatehouse is in one of the oldest parts of the castle and dates from the 13th century. Built by Edward I to strengthen the castle’s defences, it now forms an impressive entrance to the Castle Island.

Entirely self-contained, the Gatehouse’s facilities include a reception area, private bar, cloakrooms and ceremony room, which offer an historic and intimate setting for ceremonies and receptions.

If you wish to celebrate your day with a larger number of guests in the evening, the Fairfax Hall and Terrace Room can be used as your reception venue.
